I recently had to attend a family function at a restaurant. These situations are difficult for me. People already think I am a little "out there" or overly strict with things I do with the kids diets and their health. I try to follow a diet almost vegan for the kids. What I mean is we buy organic fruits, veggies, and grains. We never buy meat or cheese. However, if we are at dinner at a family members house I will give the kids the option to try what they are offering. Mostly they will say no as they are not used to these items. Anyway, we were at the restaurant and my kids were offered different menu items. Meats, cheeses, etc. The kids said no and looked for other options. At this point I was told I am ruining the kids to just let them eat...I was upset as I don't feel like I should be scolded for trying to educate my kids to make good food choices. What do you do in these situations? Do you have support from your friends and family members?
